PetScore ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the PetScore mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use PetScore:

• Account information — email address and display name when you register
• Pet profiles — name, species, breed, weight, age, allergies and health conditions of your pets
• Health records — medical events, weight entries, symptom logs you create for your pets
• Scan history — products you scan or search, along with compatibility scores
• Photos — photos you optionally attach to health events, stored on our server
• Veterinarian profile — clinic name, doctor name, phone, address (stored locally on your device only)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide personalized pet food compatibility scores
• To store and display your pets' health records
• To send local notifications for upcoming health events (reminders)
• To generate PDF health reports for veterinary use
• To improve our ingredient database through community contributions

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored on a secure server. Veterinarian profile information is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.

4. Third-Party Services

PetScore uses the following third-party data sources:

• Open Pet Food Facts (openpetfoodfacts.org) — an open database of pet food products, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL).

We do not share your personal data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Camera and Photo Library

PetScore requests access to your camera and photo library solely to:

• Scan product barcodes using your camera
• Attach photos to health events

Photos are only uploaded when you explicitly choose to attach them to a health event.

6. Notifications

PetScore may send local notifications to remind you of upcoming health events (vaccines, vet visits, etc.). You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings.

7. Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: go to your profile, tap Account Settings, then Delete Account. This action is irreversible and will delete all your pets, health records, scan history, and account information.

8. Children's Privacy

PetScore is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
